Lawrence

This big boy is a two year old lab mix who weighs 72 lbs. There’s so much more than his good looks to make you fall in love with Lawrence. He is well-behaved, calm and very smart. He loves toys, especially squeaky toys, and delights in going for walks. He is great on a leash and harness and is house trained. He gets along great with the other dogs in his southern foster home and he has a special friend who is a small female beagle mix. We wanted to take his buddy Tinsley north too but she has to finish up her heartworm treatment first. Our wonderful volunteers raised the money to get Lawrence treated and now he is healthy and ready to come north!

Lawrence is very affectionate and loves a good tussle and tummy rub during playtime. He is such a great boy! Of course with the good comes the “not so good”. Lawrence can’t live with little animals like cats or chickens. Lawrence’s former owners let him roam free and he helped himself to some of the neighbor’s chickens for lunch and they didn’t appreciate it.
Lawrence could live in almost any situation that is chicken and cat free - he could be an “only” with a young couple or could be part of a family with children and other dogs. Certainly he could knock over tiny humans with his big boy exuberance but doesn’t have a mean bone in his body. An active retiree would love him as well. He will be a loyal companion and a great furry friend!

Please note: We do not have a physical location where the dogs are housed; they are cared for in our network of wonderful foster homes throughout New England. It is our expectation that, once approved through the rescue, a potential family will meet the dog in the foster setting where they are feeling safe and loved.
