Tinsley  - in Maine!
Posted Dec. 2021

Tinsley is destined to be someone’s BFF! She may be a mature gal at 7 yrs old but she is playful, happy-go-lucky and delights in human company. Her southern shelter adored her and actually used her to temperament test other dogs because she’s such an easy and fun dog. She is even good with dogs much larger than herself.

Tinsley is possibly a dachshund mix with her long body and stubby little legs but she is bigger than a typical doxie at 44 lbs.

She’s doing a great job doing her business outdoors and is a little reluctant to go in the crate but will follow a treat in there and waits quietly for her turn to come out. She doesn’t bother anything If left uncrated at night with the other dogs, unless food or treats are within reach.  Tinsley has met older kids and done fine but we don’t have any info on younger kiddos. Tinsley has had some litters and we’re sure her babies were adorable, but no more for her. She also had some mammary tumors removed and got a clean bill of health.

She is highly interested in food so it has to be securely out of her reach. She waits nicely for treats. Tinsley is not exactly a marathon runner so a super active family wouldn’t be her choice. She’d be the best buddy of a retired person or couple. She gets nervous with sudden movement or noise, so a placement with small children will not be the right one for Tinsley.

Tinsley has integrated beautifully into a foster home with multiple dogs and she loves to snuggle up by the fire; she was unimpressed with our recent snowfall. Welcome to Maine, pretty lady!

Please note: we do not have a physical facility where the dogs are housed; they are cared for in our wonderful foster network. It is our expectation that, once approved, a potential family will meet the dog(s) in the foster setting where they are feeling safe and loved.
